The roof of the hotel was leaking and was ponding badly. Tower Asphalt removed the numerous overlays and wet insulation and exposed the original asphalt roof. A Sika Liquid Plastics warm roof was applied with tapered insulation to create the falls required. The roofing work is guaranteed for twenty years.


High Performance Felt Roofing


Somerfield Store Brentwood


The existing roof had reached the end of its serviceable life. It required upgrading and insulating to current building regulations. Tower Asphalt applied a new Langley waterproofing system warm roof complete with a 20 year insurance backed guarantee.




St Katherine?s Dock


This floating shower block within the heart of St Katherine’s Dock had a traditional mineral felt roof that had failed. Tower Asphalt removed the existing waterproofing and applied a new two layer Langley Waterproofing system with a copper finish. This product is known as ‘Veral’ and comes in aluminium, stainless steel and stove enamel finish.






Boss House London SE1


This converted warehouse, which is now home to in excess of one hundred flats, was fitted with and additional floor on top of the original flat roof. The roof to the new floor was corrugated metal sheeting. It was cold and very noisy in heavy rainfall.
Tower Asphalt converted the metal sheeting to a flat surface using 18mm plywood then applied an Alumasc two layer mineral finished waterproofing system (Derbigum).
New mechanically operated rooflights/smoke vents were also installed.
The roof is guaranteed for twenty years.






Shoreditch


The top floor of the building in Shoreditch was converted to residential accommodation with access onto the roof for the occupants. The waterproofing system, provided by Tower Asphalt, was an Alumasc Derbigum warm roof with timber decking applied to allow pedestrian access and an area which was laid to lawn.
The roof is guaranteed for twenty years.




Living Green Roof


Sandringham School


This was a newly constructed building in a school in East London. The specification called for an insulated Bauder Green Roof (Sedum).

The Sedum was delivered to site and laid in one day and is irrigated by a ‘leaky pipe’ system.






Co-operative Store Hatfield Peveral


This newly constructed shop with residential flats above was waterproofed with a Sika Liquid Plastics inverted roofing system.
The flat roof areas that lead to the flats are laid with paving slabs on Roofmate insulation. The pitched roofs are also inverted with Sedum mat on a substrate to provide a living roof. All areas are guaranteed for twenty years.
